For immediate release

Mumbai, India, 10 November, 2017: This is a phase in the history of the world when the long suppressed talent of the women are coming to the fore to enrich every sector of human involvement. Nations have seen women taking up the challenges of leading from the forefront. We have had women leading India, the UK, Israel, Germany and all of them have excelled in their fields. Now there is no field which has not been enriched by women.

India has not been an exception to this. The latest in this list of Indian women rising to great prominence at the national level is Nirmala Sitharaman, who is the first woman to become the Defence Minister of India. We have had Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi as the Chairperson and CEO of PepsiCo; we have Dr. Sowmya Swaminathan adorning the position of Deputy Director General of World Health Organisation (WHO), the number two position in the global hierarchy of the organisation. The Indian women are also excelling in the sports field in the world arena, Indian badminton stars Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are shining examples.

Indian Aviation industry has women occupying the highest position in this industry. We have Tulsi Mirchandani, who has been the Managing Director of Blue Dart Aviation, a prominent cargo airline operating from India and Harpree A de Singh who is the first woman pilot of country's flagship carrier, Air India. She is now occupying the top echelon of Air India management looking after flight safety. She is also the first woman Head of Quality Management Systems in an airline and the first Lead Auditor and Evaluator for International Quality and Safety Standards for IOSA, ISAGO and LOSA.

Indian Aerospace has also a rising woman star in Priya Iyengar. With varied experience of twenty years from her diverse background as a Corporate, Aerospace & Defense Lawyer and Arbitrator, Priya Iyengar focuses on Civil Aviation Sector in leveraging her expertise on the effective and efficient resolution of complex disputes. She also has a counseling practice in civil aviation, telecom, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions.
